The grounds are due west on 17K, approx-imately 4-5 miles. Signs will be posted at Barron Road. Please refer to our website the week before the test for additional info or changes! -- While using this property, we are under the regulations of the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), whose primary focus is wildlife preservation. Our use is strictly limited to designated areas only; no other access or driving will be permitted. Vehicles must be kept ON the roadway, NOT parked on the grass. Speed limits will not exceed 15 mph anywhere in the park. Be extremely cautious of ALL wildlife on the roadways -- they have the right of way. Extra care should be taken to be courteous to other park users (hikers, bicyclists, and horse riders). Do not leave ANY litter behind and be careful with matches and smoking materials. Treat the land, its inhabitants and other visitors with respect and be an ambassador for our sport. Failure to use good judgement will result in fines and denial of future permits for the entire dog training community. PLEASE help us keep this site! The gate must be kept locked at all times so relock it behind you whenever you enter or exit. The combination on the WRC lock is 1010. Relock the gate exactly as you found it--in one continuous loop. Relocking incorrectly could lock out DEC officials, which results in substantial fines and/or revocation of our permit. HUNT TEST HEADQUARTERS: WRC tent at Blockhouse on Barron Road. ACCOMMODATIONS: It is difficult to find motels that accept dogs in the Hudson Valley. Check with motels in advance about their policies--most do not allow dogs in rooms. Pick up after your dogs and do not allow them to bark in vehicles or disturb the other patrons. Please do not jeopardize future motel accommodations by acting irresponsibly. Comfort Inn Newburgh - 845-567-0567 RUNNING ORDER: If you would like to know your running number, see our website after the closing date or enclose a self-addressed, stamped postcard with your entry with your dog's full name, call name, and entered test(s). SCRATCHES: Notify the hunt test secretary or marshal BEFORE the start of the stake if you have a dog to scratch. Refunds will be given for bitches in season, injury, illness, or death, if a veterinary certificate is presented.
